Somewhere in a deep recess of the most shallow subcultures of West L.A. there exists at least two young men who, on a rainy Friday night, put on dress shirts and hard shoes and party manners to support a younger friend's first performance for his peers.
"Why are they being so nice to me?", I asked Sonnyboy.
"You probably remind them of their mothers. None of my white or Asian band mates say that, but all the foreign-born dudes do. Plus, they're classical musicians. We're all nice".
